The shortlist of capital’s twenty best loaves of ‘real bread’ is out – that’s proper loaves made without artificial additives or processing aids. Organisers of the Londoners’ Loaf competition, The Jellied Eel and the Real Bread Campaign want Londoners to vote for their favourites. If you have strong opinions on crumb, crust and bake, then why not find out who the nominated bakeries are – or try out your nearest loaves. The loaves with most votes will then be judged by a panel of experts and the winners announced at the Real Bread Festival, 5-7 October, next to the SouthBank Centre, SE1. Voting closes 20 August.

For the nominations, voting and more info, see sustainweb.org.
