Blogger@tehbus picks his favourite meal in London

Posted at 1:15 pm, August 19, 2012 in Food & Drink

A Rather Unusual China ManOur list of 100 best dishes in London is a sure fire way to get you hungry. Sweet, savoury, spicy, fancy, cheap, exotic and classic – this is one hell of an edible bucket list. As if that wasn’t enough to get your mouthwatering, we’ve also asked some of London’s best food bloggers to pick their fave dishes in the capital. Today it’s the turn of ‘A Rather Unusual Chinaman‘ whose top ten included confit pigeon legs at The Ledbury. And just for you, we asked him to tell us about his favourite dish…

Chu toro at Sushi of Shiori
‘I’d never normally eat fish, but this toro got me hooked. I love sushi rice, and the sushi rice at SoS is perfectly cooked and lightly vinegared, but the toro was simply stunning, light yet meaty in texture and just melts on your tongue. Considering this is the belly of the tuna, the flesh is surprisingly ungreasy, and it delivered nothing but joy. Paired with fine shavings of ginger, this chu toro refreshed the palate and urged me towards having more.’
