How much would you pay to clean up dog poo on the streets of London? £5,000 per bowel movement?! Thought not, but that’s what the latest Islington Council poop crackdown scheme has cost. Over 84 days, 22 ‘dog squad’ officers patrolled the borough issuing only 26 fines of £80 each to dogs caught in the act. The whole scheme has raised a grand total of £2,080 and has cost taxpayers £134,000. Wowser.
Can you think of any better ways to crackdown on dog poo?
