Paralympic Torch

London seems to be lacking a certain warmth and glow since the Olympic cauldron was extinguished last week, but never fear, a new flame is gracing our streets as of this Friday. On August 24, the first of four National Flames will be lit in Trafalgar Square to start the official run up to the Paralympic games. Over the following days, flames will be lit in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland before heading to Stoke Mandeville, the spiritual home of the Paralympics. On August 29, the four flames will come together and a 24 hour relay will commence, taking the torch to Stratford and the Paralympics Opening Ceremony.
