We’ve all daydreamed about being swept away by a mysterious, eloquent stranger during our day-to-day life. While today’s fantasies may include a little more BDSM from outrageously (and unrealistically) rich, successful characters, there’s something to be said for a good old-fashioned 15th Century romance. Supported by the Mayor of London and as part of the London 2012 Festival, Mark Rylance has created ‘Surprises: What You Will: Pop-Up Shakespeare’ taking place over London for the next 5 days. Pedestrians of London’s cultural hotspots will be dragged from their safe iPod cocoons as actors plan to surprise and delight them with personalised one-on-one performances before melting back into the crowd. There are 50 actors in all and there may even be a flash mob or two, so keep an eye out for your very own Juliet and watch your back for the mischievous Puck. Carly-Ann Clements
