Wok ‘n’ roll: learn the culinary tricks at School of Wok

School of Wok

Forget Gok, you need Wok. Yes, it has a questionable name, and an equally questionably designed website, but simply put, the School of Wok is one of the best cookery schools in town, and a hell of a lot better than trying to learn how to cook by watching it on telly. As you’ve probably guessed, it specialises in Oriental and Asian cookery, from Chinese and Japanese through to Thai, Malay and even Indian. The teachers here have passion and crucially, genuine expertise in their subject. Recently relocated to a brand-new Covent Garden HQ, classes range from 60 minute ‘quick-fire’ sessions perfect for the lunch-hour, right through to a full day session on the ‘flavours of China’, which includes lunch and a walking tour of Chinatown. Well, wok are you waiting for?
