The sun may be playing hide and seek at the moment, but by the look of it today, it’s still summer and what does that mean? Ice cream. Come rain or shine, everyone loves a frozen treat, especially at your favourite gelateria on a Saturday afternoon. But this two day fiesta dedicated to the creamy, sugary delight will top even your unlimited flake-topped soft-serve pipe dreams. This weekend the King’s Cross Ice Cream Festival will not only give you an opportunity to sample a range of the icy stuff but also learn its history, how culinary magicians use nitrogen and even how to milk a cow. Pow. Head down from 11am and make sure you’re wearing your stretchy trousers to maximise ice cream capacity. Carly-Ann Clements
