We’ve seen Prince Charles do the weather, Prince William get hitched and Prince Harry’s golden balls, so it’s probably fair to say that Prince Andrew is the quiet, sensible one of the bunch, right? Wrong. This morning, he ascended to new heights by abseiling down the world’s 59th tallest building – aka The Shard. The Duke of York lowered himself down the glass beacon from the 87th to the 20th floor (that’s 250 meters) with 39 other intrepid folks including Ffion Hague, wife of Foreign Secretary William to raise money for The Outward Bound Trust and The Royal Marines Charitable Trust. When asked how he felt after the descent, the Duke replied ‘Yes I did enjoy it. I was curious to see if I would be able to step over the edge! I was scared yes. There is a moment of trepidation when you step out.’ Yikes. That’s bound to wake you up on a Monday morning.
