The results are in, and after the annual weigh in at London Zoo, it seems the tigers have gotten a little too big for their boots… well, territory at least. Yesterday, ZSL London Zoo announced a brand new £3.6m project to expand the Sumatran tiger enclosure to 2,500sqm – that’s five times bigger than the current space to you and me. The endangered animals will have a custom made pool to splash around in, tropical foliage that mimics their home environment, and floor-to-ceiling glass windows so visitors won’t miss a thing. The new territory will be open for viewing in Spring 2013, and even better, the extra space will allow ZSL to start breeding the Sumatran tigers right here in London – so expect some extra-cute tiger cub action a few months later!
