Make a run fur it at this year’s Great Gorilla Run

The Great Gorilla Run

Get up to any monkey business over the weekend? Well, you can be guaranteed some this coming Saturday (Sept 22) as the Great Gorilla Run returns to the streets of London. Participants each don a hairy gorilla costume and run a 7km route through the heart of the City, raising money for endangered wildlife habitats while bewildering the public. If that’s exactly the kind of thing you go ape for, you’ll need to register in advance with an £80 donation, plus speedily raise £400 sponsorship (that’s £20 off your £20 best mates, basically) although the gorilla suit is provided for you. If you’re more sloth than silverback, you can enjoy the spectacle along the route from Tower Bridge to the South Bank.

It might be a bit bananas, but in six short days you could have earned yourself quite the anecdote – and that’s why it made this week’s Hot List.

For info and to see other highlights of the week, see the Hot List.
