London Fashion Week came to its stylish conclusion today with large dollop of glitz: ballrooms were the theme of the day. Proceedings began in the Claridge’s ballroom for Mulberry, where Time Out brushed hair with Kate Moss and Alexa Chung while gawping at Anna Wintour’s technicolour dream coat and helmet-like bob (it just doesn’t move AT ALL). The collection featured sumptuous biscuit-coloured leathers, slink jumpsuits, textured new versions of the Del Rey bag and a giant poodle which had softened even the hardest of fashion glares, apart from Ms Wintour’s that is. Next up was Roksanda Ilincic, the Serbian designer favoured by Michelle Obama, Samantha Cameron and Kate Middleton, who injected punchy orange and lemons shades into her body-hugging silk gowns at The Savoy ballroom. Over at the Park Lane hotel, Anya Hindmarch presented her luxurious leather bags, displayed on a beautiful old-fashioned carousel; a fittingly glamorous finale for an action-packed week.
