Love it or loathe it, it’s here: Primark’s vast new flagship opens by Tottenham Court Road

Get ready for the charge as the biggest and baddest new Primark store has opened its doors at the Tottenham Court Road end of Oxford Street. Covering over 80,000 sq ft on four glossy floors, it’s now the largest of Primark’s 60 London stores, including its sister store at the other end of Oxford Street. As it’s just over the road from Time Out Towers we have nipped in today and can confirm that, as you might expect, it is absolutely heaving (although no sign of a ‘chavalanche’ yet). You’ll find the entire Primark range here. Menswear and kidswear is down in the basement (look out for stripy jumpers from £6. Yes, £6!). Womenswear – including galaxy-print leggings for a tenner a pop and studded leather boots for just £20 – is on the ground floor and first. There’s even homeware up on the second floor with furry throws from £3 and a Victoria’s Secret-inspired lingerie section with knickers for just £1. For every shopper that questions its ethics, there are twenty shoppers ramming their huge baskets to the brim.
