For decades, one image has been a universal symbol of fear and devastation: the AK47. To raise awareness of last week’s World Peace Day, international artists have decommissioned and customised 23 of the assault rifles creating a collection of intriguingly beautiful art. The show opens at the Institute of Contemporary Arts today (until September 30) hopes to raise funds for the Peace One Day’s Global Truce 2013 campaign which aims to have 24 hours of non-violence around the world next year. The show includes work from Damien Hirst, Antony Gormley and Jeremy Deller promising a great show for a good cause. Carly-Ann Clements
