Burger Breakout

October brings more than just constant rain and being “allowed” to put the heating on. Tonnes of fun events are popping up all over town. LondOntheInside have picked their fave things going on in the capital this month.  Check out their top five…

1. Rekorderlig Winter Forest, Brick Lane 26 Oct – 6th Nov
‘It’s not often we get the chance to go to the forest, never mind a forest in the centre of London. But in October thanks to Rekorderlig and their Winter Forest Bar in Brick Lane we can. The makers of those huge bottles of fruity cider are creating a pop-up “forest” with sky scraping pine trees and wild foliage, Scandinavian DJs and plenty of cider and cider cocktails. We’ll go for a nosey but stay for the hot Winter ciders and elk sausage rolls – oh and it’s only a fiver in which includes a free Rekorderlig tasting tray – BONUS!’

2. AIM Independent Music Awards, The Brewery, 29 Oct
‘We are big champions of new music on Londontheinside and nothing excites us more than seeing our favourite up-and-coming artists winning awards. That’s why we’ll be hot footing it to the second AIM Independent Music Awards at The Brewery to see the likes of Django Django and Alt-J go head to head in the Independent Breakthrough Of The Year category. Suited and booted. Plus Huw Stephens and Steve Lamacq are this year’s hosts and there’s a pretty wild afterparty too – who will win? Who knows….’

3. The Dead Dolls Club, Kingsland Road, 19 Oct
‘We’ve had a blast this summer with the Dead Dolls Club at London Fields Brewery which is why we were gutted when it came to an end last month. But lo and behold they now have a new home, and it’s even indoors. Located on Kingland Road, the new home serves stews in the form of their first pop-up The Stew House and cocktails from guest mixologists. If it’s anything like the summer affair there’ll be fun a’plenty!’

4. Tradicional After Supper Club, MC Motors, 4, 5, 6, 10, 11, 12, 13 Oct
‘Tequila makes us happy and that’s why you will find us at the Tradicional After Supper Club. That and because it’s taking place in the MC Motors venue which is the shizzle, it’s being run in collaborating with the Art of Dining who have a history of ACE pop-ups and it’s a steal. For just £45 you can score a 5 course meal with booze throughout and a bottle of Tequila to end – you’d be a fool to miss out (but perhaps don’t pick a school night).’

5. Burger Breakout, The Old Crown, Oxford Street, from 2 Oct
‘The burgers in London just keep on getting better. Seriously, this latest partnership between pop-up Burger Breakout and the Old Crown has the best sounding menu yet and the great news is that it’s permanent. You’ll find us filling our faces with the Scotch Eggs wrapped in a hash brown casing, fish donuts – yes, that’s right, fish donuts – The Swine Time burger (rare breed pork patty, 24hr cooked pulled pork, doddington cheese & apple and jalapeno mayoburger), The Baa-Baa Baby (lamb patty, crispy deep fried leeks, minted roasted garlic tomato ketchup) and anything else we can get our greedy, greasy little hands on.’
