Rooftop Swishing Party at Netil House

Almost every girl is guilty of harbouring a perfectly lovely but hardly-worn item in their cupboard, which is why swishing events (where you swap unwanted clothes for the desirable cast-offs of others) have become quite a regular feature in London. We particularly like the sound of tonight’s (October 4) Rooftop Swishing Party in Hackney’s Netil House, which barrels in with strict ‘rules of the rails’ that ensure you won’t end up swapping a fancy piece of apparel for a fraying Primark frock. The rules state that you have to bring along something you’re proud to pass on: so no Primark, plain T-shirts, vests, underwear or accessories. For each piece you swap, you have to pay £1 and you’re allowed to bring a maximum of 10 items. Changing rooms are available – as are artisan cakes and a BYOB policy (corkage £4 on wine, £1 on beer and cider). Zena Alkayat
