Time Out’s guide to London Cocktail Week

London Cocktail Week

Wait. Isn’t this just another tedious ‘themed week’, created by marketing types?
Sort of. But this one is specifically for London. And it involves alcohol (some of which is free) so it’s got our attention.

Did you say free booze?
Yes. Several of the events will invite you to sample something quaffable for gratis. We like the look of the Bootlegger Sippin’ Bar (Wednesday-Saturday) and the Kamm & Sons Punch & Judy Bar (Thursday-Saturday).

What about the non-free stuff?
If you spend a tenner on a special wristband, you can bar-crawl (on special Routemaster buses, no less), sampling discounted cocktails across town. Or you can sign up for masterclasses on everything from creative mixology (Thursday, £10) to making liquid nitrogen ice-cream and ice-cream cocktails (Friday, £20).

So I might even learn something?
You might, yes. If you’re not too drunk.

And wristbands?
If you thought you’d missed the £4 early bird special, fear not, dear readers. You can simply mention Time Out and still bag a bargain when you arrive at the LCW Ketel One Shop, 15 Shorts Gardens, WC2H 9AT. The nice lady might even tell you where to find your first drink…
