For the LOL of cats
If the internet has taught us anything, it’s that people really bloomin’ love cats. From the weird and wonderful to the downright cute, the furry little blighters have invaded and conquered our computer screens ever since the dial-up tone first rang out from our modems. But it’s not just the digital age that brought a snappy enjoyment of our feline friends; cats have been muses for centuries and it hasn’t gone unnoticed. If you don’t have time to watch the newest Maru video or follow the cat scanning trend, then have we got a treat for you. Until January 16, The Photographers’ Gallery will be displaying the ‘LOL of Cats’ – a digital wall packed full of all your favourite internet cat celebrities with the odd historical image snuck in for good measure. So if you need an afternoon pick-me-up or you’re just missing your cat on your lunch break, head down between 10am-6pm Monday-Saturday and 11.30am-6pm on Sundays with later hours on Thursdays. To get you in the mood, we’ve put together a list of the cat’s and events we’re hoping to see at the ‘LOL of Cats’ exhibition:
It wouldn’t be a show without Maru (pictured above):
Though she probably won’t be happy to be there:
But Lil Bub will make up for Tard’s lack of enthusiasm and then some:
And Venus the Chimera cat will bring the mysterious charm:
But it’s always nice to get a different point of view:
But maybe not Felix Baumgartner’s:
But anyway, back to the event. The Photographers’ Gallery serve drinks:
And food:
Though, maybe not sushi:
There’s no music:
So there won’t be any dancing:
But it’d be the perfect place for a date… just don’t forget the flowers:
So wrap up warm:
And relax:
And get ready to be amazed:
