From shops and bars to burger joints and theatrical experiences, things are popping up all over the city at the moment. So much so that an indie backlash was inevitable. It seems this has come in the form of the Kopparberg ün-establishment. This pop-up space in the centre of Shoreditch (open until Oct 26) will explore anti-mainstream creativity through a series of talks, workshops, exhibitions and screenings and at the end of it all, there will be a big party to celebrate being so bloody alternative. We like the sound of the Pothole Gardener’s field trip to create gardens on the streets of east London (like the one above), and Pure Evil’s tour of East London street art, as well as Margot Bowman’s GIF workshop, teaching you how to make hilarious viral GIFs – possibly up to our standards. We aren’t quite sure how this differs from all the other ‘mainstream’ pop up stuff, but alternative or not, it sounds pretty fun.
