‘Gary Barlow is a very nice man.’ Or so says rapper, comedian and poet Raphael Attar, who took it upon himself to compose a song dedicated solely to the charms of the world famous X-Factor judge and Take That front man. The painfully catchy dancehall riddim has had over 50,000 hits on YouTube and praise from Radio 1’s Nick Grimshaw, who, when it was released, was playing it almost daily. Even Barlow himself admitted on Twitter that the tune is ‘Bloody brilliant!’ As for the other members of Take That: ‘None of them have climbed Mount Kilimanjaro’, sings Attar. Guess who did? If you like what you hear you can catch a sight of Raphael Attar live this Sunday 21 at the Book Club. He’ll be performing a selection from his Edinburgh Festival ‘Variety Hour’ show at Inc. Zine’s Interactive Poetry Party – where he’ll be joined by performance poet Zena Edwards, Brixton school teacher Emma Jones and llama aficionado Joshua Seigal.
