Think there’s no such thing as underground art anymore? Think again. 100 contemporary artists including Cornelia Parker, Gavin Turk, Jeremy Deller and Peter Blake have re-imagined the London Underground’s world-famous roundel logo. The artists’ images are published today (October 22) in ‘The Roundel’. They will also be unveiled as a collage on a huge billboard at Southwark tube station – where they will provide jaded commuters with a hundred new meanings for the phrase ‘Circle Line’.

Are the further reaches of the Central line so far away that it’s actually a holiday destination now? Talk about small minded Londoners…
Sir Peter Blake’s colourful interpretation brightens up the idea of a dull commute.
This photograph, by German photographer Torsten Lauschmann, is both clever and lovely. Aww.
