Brixton Bolt

Yeah, yeah – Usain Bolt is the fastest man in the world. But who’s the fastest man in Brixton? And what about the fastest woman? Or fastest girl under 11? Find out on Saturday October 27 as hundreds compete in the Brixton Bolt: a competition to find the borough’s speediest residents, culminating in a 100-metre dash along Pope’s Road. And it’s not just for glory. Brixton-based prizes for winners in the eight categories include cocktails at Seven at Brixton and pizza and wine for two at Franco Manca –worth running for. So why get hundreds of people to peg it around the roads of Brixton? The organisers say it’s ‘a community event organised by a group of local people who, quite frankly, should have better things to do with their free time. But they don’t.’
