The musical of Boy George’s life story is certainly a colourful one, and we mean that literally. The costumes alone in Taboo, the tale of his rise to fame in the early 80s, are practically a main cast member, and the 80s New Romantic setting make this a joyful production of, wait for it, original songs (rather than trying to piece a plot together out of the protagonist’s solo hits), which is why it’s undergoing a successful revival in the Brixton Clubhouse this winter. Having alerted you to auditions earlier this year, we can’t wait to see the results, which is why it’s our pick of the Hot List this week.
