King’s Cross station has been something of a sore spot to Londoners for a long time now – its ugly green (now former) entrance hall was never the most appetising gateway to the North. Warner Brothers clearly weren’t impressed with the outer facade as they gave neighbouring St Pancras the role of King’s Cross in the final Harry Potter film. Tut tut. However, the winds of change are fast upon us and following on from the rather incredible new entrance hall to the station which opened in March this year, the green canopy that has required planning permission to stay in place every year since its inception in the 1970s, is finally being torn down to reveal the front of the station, and create a more impressive entrance, and exit, to London. Hurrah! Victoria Gray
