26 things we learnt from the ‘Twilight’ Saga
Love it or hate it, Twilight fever will be sweeping the nation as the final instalment hits cinemas today (Nov 16). The book and film sensation that propelled Stephanie Meyer to the bestsellers list time and time again, shot Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson into the public eye and made everyone vampire crazy is drawing to it’s much anticipated (and much needed) conclusion. Though many of us exclaim our disdain for the series, it’s obvious that it has had a massive impact on our lives and culture, so we’ve come up with a list of the life lessons we’ve learned from the ‘Twilight Saga’… Carly-Ann Clements
1. That reading a book just because everyone else has is totally acceptable:
2. And that goes for movies too:
3. That when a boy seems repulsed by you, he’s blatantly in love with you:
4. Because, you know, there are many ways to interpret things:
5. We also now know that cupping apples is really sexy:
6. So is breaking the bed:
7. As is wearing Robert Pattinson underwear:
or maybe not…
8. We’ve learnt that vampires sparkle:
9. But that not everything that sparkles is pretty:
10. We now know what imprinting is and that age doesn’t matter as long as you’re patient:
11. Making it perfectly reasonable to have a crush on the 16-year-old Taylor Lautner:
Because you knew he would grow up and get his abs out all the time:
12. Although, running topless in the rain won’t always get you the girl:
13. It has been confirmed that vampires do age:
14. And sometimes change their looks entirely:
15. And that a werewolf:
Can become the leader of the vampires:
16. We learned that fantasising about your favourite character can make you millions upon millions of pounds:
17. And that if you need something more life like, you should buy a pillow:
18. Or dress up like Bella and Edward for your engagement photos:
19. And if your lawfully-wedded-partner to be says “yes” to a ‘Twilight’ wedding cake, they’re a keeper:
20. If forever’s too long, you can always cover your Edward Cullen tattoo with Rufio from ‘Hook’:
21. Or, you know, you can jump off a cliff because your boyfriend breaks up with you…:
Or maybe not… no we mean it, seriously don’t.
22. But if you do end up with the one you love, your child should have all your parents’ names:
23. And talking of ‘awesome’ combinations, ‘Twilight’ meets ‘Mean Girls’ = genius:
24. And, you know, it’s okay to hate it if you want to:
Because the actors hate it more than anyone:
25. But it’s okay to love it too because you’re providing a service:
26. But just don’t lend it to your mum:
