Better late than never: xmas shopping evenings

If you find that time to do the mandatory Christmas shop is hard to come by then give thanks for the wonder of late night shopping. Our fair city is full of these nocturnal wallet busters so check out which one’s nearest to you.

Kensington Park Road Winter Shopping Evening
Participating retailers of this Notting Hill enclave including Ananya, Shabby Chic and Merchant Archive are offering late night shoppers 20% off. Couverture and The Garbstone will be filled with the cheering noise of a live mariachi band and stocked up with Mexican drinks and nibbles.

Columbia Road Christmas Wednesdays
The road famous for its travel-worthy flower market is fast becoming known for its annual late night Christmas events too. In its seventh year, this shopping event boasts over 50 participating shops including a place to stop off and pick up the newest (green, piney) addition to your household. Expect a performance from the Gypsy Queens (no, that’s not a typo) on Dec 5, the Puppet Barge, appearances from Father Christmas and carollers.

Stoke Newington Christmas Lates
A hot spot for independent shops, these midweek shopping evenings will be a saving grace for those reluctant to risk being affected by West End crowd mentality. The opening night includes up to 20% off, a mini Christmas market, This Is Rude street art exhibition and even a doggy grotto for your furry friend courtesy of Paws & Purrs.

Dalston Late Night Shopping: An Independent High Street At Christmas
If the thought of braving a crowded mall or department store makes you break out in a cold sweat then this one’s for you. The ever-popular hipster hangout is having a few late night shopping events leading up to the big day with many of its beloved independent retailers staying open for your convenience. Grab some old school vinyls at Kristina Records, get spruced up for the season’s festivities at dandyish hairdresser Blue Tit or hit up Beyond Retro for a plethora of vintage party gear. For every spender there will be a 10% off voucher to be used in the new year when money’s a bit tight.

Camden Lock’s Night Markets
Camden Market is turning the big 4-0 this year. Every Thursday between now and Christmas there will festive shopping nights with different activities such as hat-making and performances including Irish music.

The Notting Hill Late Night Shopping Event
The renowned West London shopping street is keeping its doors open longer for a night of late shopping just in time for the festive period. Exclusive discounts are planned including 20% off all stock at Helmut Lang, 15% off at delicates brand Bodas and 20% off at Brissi. Free gift wrapping will be offered at Paul Smith and, to sustain you, Melt will be offering free choccie samples (including divine-sounding hot chocolate shots) and Loft Design By providing Ladurée macaroons.
