Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

Wine and dine Wonka-style on Friday December 7 when Vauxhall’s Tea House Theatre will be transformed into an Oompa Loompa-filled, chocolate-covered pop-up restaurant. Bringing the children’s literary classic to life (or to the dining table), The Novel Diner are hosting a Charlie and the Chocolate-themed dinner party for one evening only. Enjoy a CATCF-inspired three-course meal, with all the tomato soup-roast beef-blueberry pie references you could possibly stomach, Butterscotch and Buttergin cocktails plus a factory-sized selection of creative confectionery. Remember the everlasting gobstopper? Rainbow drops? Or even the sugar-coated pencil? (I’d like a sugar-coated black biro pronto, please.) In true Factory fashion, spend the evening sampling some serious Wonka-inspired sweet treats. For the full fictional experience, guests are encouraged to don their best Willy garb, or Charlie, Verruca or Grandpa Joe outfit, of course. Liz Darke
