Souped up: ramen mania hits London
In 2010, the Japanese noodle of choice for discerning Londoners was the fat wheat variety known as udon; in 2012 it’s ramen. Establishments serving this thinner wheat noodle in hot broth with toppings such as roast pork, marinated soft-boiled eggs and bean sprouts are popping up all over London. In fact, the latest two opened in the same week. More traditional Shoryu Ramen, and Bone Daddies which is much more New York than Tokyo.
