Charity Smarity

Who ever said the hipsters of Dalston were an apathetic bunch who just want to party hard at Effes clearly hadn’t heard of Charity Smarity. Ok, so this is still a party, but this time it is all for a good cause. A group of Dalston designers, artists and musicians are coming together on December 1 for a day of fun and frolics to raise money for UK-based HIV and AIDS charity, Avert. For just £2 entry fee, you can witness Jonny Woo and James Jeanette strutting their hot stuff up and down the catwalk wearing highly biddable delights from designers including James Long, Louise Gray, Marios Schwab, Piers Atkinson. There’ll be silent auctions featuring handmade tees by artists including Grayson Perry, Jake and Dino Chapman, Sarah Lucas, Wolfgang Tilmans, Conrad Shawcross and prizes donated by locals businesses Vogue Fabrics, Dalston Superstore, A little of What you Fancy, Tina we Salute You,  Dukes Brew & Que, Parrots and Pelicans, Ruby’s , The Print Room. Oh and there’ll be bands and DJs too, it is Dalston after all. All proceeds will go to charity and you’ll even be able to win a date with a local celeb. Dinner in Mangal with Gilbert and George perhaps?! We wish. Plus it all takes place in the lovely MC Motors warehouse.

For info, see the Facebook event.
