Running out of fuel is only a minor inconvenience when you know that a petrol station’s only a short roll away. If you’re one of London’s 17,000 electric vehicle owners, running out of juice can be a little more bothersome. However, a new partnership looks set to change all that. Parkatmyhouse.com, SSE, Chargemaster and Source London have teamed up in a bid to encourage homeowners to lease their unused parking spaces out to electric car owners. £1,500 charging points are being offered to homeowners for free, provided they’re willing to allow commuters to park in their space. Chargemaster are hoping to install 200 charge points over the coming months, adding to the 800 points already in place as part of TfL’s Source London scheme. Jonno Hopkins

Spaces can be reserved on parkatmyhouse.com.
