Meow that’s a good idea: cat café to open in east London
We’ve made it pretty clear how much we love cats here at Time Out towers and though some of us are fortunate enough to have our own purring fluff balls, we know most Londoners lack an animal-loving landlord, rendering their kitty appreciation merely web-worthy. If only there was a place where you could have a cup of tea and slice of cake with a little kitten perched on your lap… *sigh*. Well, don’t sulk about it any longer because a cat café could be opening near you. The Taiwanese concept made famous by its widespread success in Japan could be hitting east London in March, but they need your help. Pussy lover and hopeful owner, Lauren Pears, is seeking contributions towards the £108,000 it will cost to open the feline friendly ‘Lady Dinah’s Cat Emporium’ through crowdfunding site IndieGoGo. Not only looking to provide urbanites with the animal affection they are denied, Pears is also looking to give lonely cats a loving, comfortable home that they may otherwise miss out on. So if you want the chance to have a little furry beast in your life without having to hide the litter box every time your landlord knocks on the door, contribute now! Carly-Ann Clements
Pledge a donation to the cat café before midnight, Friday Feb 15th at indiegogo.com.
And if that didn’t convince you to contribute, maybe the Time Out cats will. Here are some of our little hairy friends that keep us entertained when we’re away from the office:
