With the number of walking tours and guilty pleasure period dramas knocking around at the moment it’s safe to say that deep down, we’re all a bit history obsessed. Add a dash of city-dweller curiosity and soap-watcher nosiness and it’s unsurprising that we couldn’t leave a graveyard in peace before we started digging around in its past. The anonymity of the people buried in Hampstead Parish Churchyard has been broken by The Life and Death in Hampstead Sound Trail. Consisting of 40 interviews with family members and local experts, the Sound Trail includes stories about everyone from a chimney sweep to a body-snatcher. Camden Council is hoping it will be mainly used by local primary schools to teach children about local history but if you have a morbid curiosity then you can find it online. Carly-Ann Clements
