Elephant & Castle Culture Shock

Elephant and Castle shopping centre is not exactly renowned as a cultural London hot-spot. Known fondly by locals as the ‘Pink Elephant’, this sixties relic will act as the unlikely venue for ‘Culture Shop: January Sale’ exhibition space and shop opening on Thursday January 10. Don’t get too excited; you won’t be finding any bargains here, just a programme responding to the idea that ‘culture makes you who you are’ by the South London Gallery’s youth forum, Art Assassins. Featuring scientific experiments, wrestling-inspired demonstrations, live music and art, we’d much rather check this out than the rest of the shopping centre’s offerings (yes, we’re looking at you, Shoe Zone…).
