Have a French film festival in your living room this weekend

The Pirogue

A film festival without leaving the house? How very twenty-first century. The My French Film Festival takes place almost entirely online. There’s only one public screening, and that’s immigration drama ‘Donoma’ at the Curzon Soho to mark the opening night on Sat Jan 19, 5.45pm. The festival showcases ten new French features, available online at €1.99 each, or €11.99 for the lot, including London Film Festival alumni ‘Louise Wimmer‘ and ‘La Pirogue‘ (above). Viewers can then vote for their favourites (with the winners announced next month), while there are also shorts packages and a small handful of films screening out of competition. It’s not exactly Cannes, but for a miserable January in London, the idea of a film festival on your sofa makes total sense.
