Be transported by the Paper Cinema’s ‘Odyssey’

Posted at 5:00 pm, February 13, 2013 in Arts & Entertainment

The Paper Cinema have taken Homer’s epic tale and cut it up into thousands of pieces for their latest show at Battersea Arts Centre from Feb 14 – March 9. The characters and scenery are beautifully illustrated, intricately cut out paper puppets, and instead of a screen they are projecting the story onto the sail of Odysseus’ boat. The nautical staging is also in full view, so you can see how the production actually works. Accompanied by a live score which includes bubble wrap, a thundersheet and a power drill (as well as musical instruments), this is a truly unique silent film. Get tickets while you can. Jude Brosnan
