Funding secured for cat café to open in east London

I hope you’re sitting down and just so happen to have a party popper next to you because we have some pretty amazing news. At the beginning of January we told you about a crowdfunding project that made all cat loving Londoners hit the internet and pledge their cash, and we’re delighted to tell you that it worked. Yes, dear urbanites, Lady Dinah’s Cat Emporium is go, go, go! After a slow start to their crowdfunding bid, the last 40 hours saw the donations rocket from £36,000 to a whooping £109,510 surpassing their £108,000 target within the last hour of the bid.

Now that funding has been secured, founder Lauren Pears will be searching for a premises in the Shoreditch area before picking up all the kitties who require a safe home and some much-needed attention as well as dishing out the perks purchased during the fundraising. The bid has also answered that age-old question about cats and dogs, as the rival sausage dog café bid has only managed to raise a measly £812 in three weeks. Will have a new home where they will be loved

And where they can love us…

And each other

It’ll be a real place where you can relax

And somewhere the cats can get some real R&R

They’ll be so happy with their new home, they’ll want to help out with the cleaning

And the dish washing

They’ll even try to help keep the toilets stocked up

And conserve energy

They’ll still be self sufficient

Even though there’ll be loads of volunteers to help

But they won’t be afraid to ask for help

They’ll learn to share

But sometimes, they’ll be crafty

And with the knitting corner, some kitties will be really crafty

But some will just want your attention

And some will do anything to get it

But some will want to be left alone

And some will tell you when they’ve had enough

But for the most part, you’ll be able to make some new friends

One you can share a drink…

And piece of cake with

Someone you can play with

Read with

And generally hang with

So let’s celebrate
