Wouldn’t it be nice if, rather than throwing food away, we could do something useful with it, such as cook a delicious meal? Well, that’s just what the folks at This Is Not A Takeaway (TINATA) are doing. As part of their series of food-based talks, they’ll be hosting an evening of cooking, eating and discussion on February 20. The theme this time is on food waste – how, why, and what can be done. Guests are invited to join at 6pm for a communal cooking session, using ‘reclaimed’ ingredients, to help create a delicious four-course vegetarian meal. If you can’t make it for 6pm (or can’t/won’t cook), join at 8pm instead for the dinner and debate. Tania Ballantine
The whole evening (including dinner) costs £10 a head. To book, go to eventbrite.co.uk.
