A slice of heaven at Grub Club’s latest pop-up supper

Sometimes, the simplest ideas are the best. Recognising that many of the talented cooks keen to host supper clubs simply don’t have the space at home, and that there are plenty of lovely restaurants with under-used areas, new start-up the Grub Club aims to bring the two together. And you, the diner, get to eat good food in a proper venue, cooked up by a ‘guest chef’. Up-coming events include ‘Stairway to Heaven’, hosted on 24 February at the Clerkenwell Kitchen. Two northern Italian chefs will be cooking up the likes of duck and mascarpone ravioli in a red wine sauce ahead of lemon-scented black rice with mixed seafood, tomato and capers. What’s more, they’ll be giving a free pair of tickets (worth £27 each) to whoever suggests the best dessert for the evening (which they’ll cook, of course) – to enter, simply tweet @grub_club with your favourite pud.
