The British Library kicks off its five day Spring Festival this Friday (7.30-10.30pm) with ‘Late at the Library: Fashion Flashback’, an evening of music and fashion fun times curated by students round the corner at Central Saint Martins. And if you needed more proof that the BL isn’t only used for academic research but also by a wealth of creative types, there’ll be a pop-up displaying a series of postcards from some of fashion’s big wigs each saying what their favourite item in the library is. You can see some of the Library’s archived editions of Vogue and i-D magazine, plus there’ll be DJs, fashion shows, workshops, talks by GQ editor-in-chief Dylan Jones, fashion illustrator Tanya Ling, fashion academic Iain Webb and writer Camilla Morton. You can also get a makeover and style yourself in their photo booth or have your portarait drawn by a Central Saint Martins fashion illustrator. The most fun you’ve had in a library since you found the ‘party floor’ at university.
