Stop wasting away and go on a journey through the cycle of food

Posted at 1:30 pm, March 2, 2013 in Food & Drink

There are nearly one billion malnourished people in the world, but the millions of tonnes of food wasted in US, UK and Europe each year would be enough to satisfy the hunger of every one of them… very comfortably. But how can you help? Well, a good start might be to visit A Journey Through the Cycle of Food, a collaborative event between FoodCycle Islington and the SOAS Food Co-op on Monday March 4, (6.30-8.30pm). You’ll have the chance to sample not only a three course vegetarian meal cooked by MasterChef winner Julie Friend using food reclaimed from Islington supermarkets, but also dispense with your ‘best before’ propagated prejudices. During the meal, there will be talks from campaigners central to the war against food waste. All profits will go to support the charity FoodCycleMatthew Bremner

Tickets are available now at cycleoffood.eventbrite.com
