Everyone loves secrets. However, in art exhibitions there aren’t often that many mysteries or surprises. You usually know the artist you’re going to see and you can probably imagine roughly what the work will be like. But oh no, not at RCA Secret opening on March 14-22. The annual fundraising exhibition is back after a one-year hiatus for it’s 20th show of anonymous works of art. Once again, there will be 2,500 postcard-sized artworks made by artists, designers and illustrators, including prestigious alumni and current students – but you won’t know who made what until after the show. Each piece costs £45 and you can buy up to four when you register for an RCA Secret Collector’s Number. You might walk home with a Paula Rego and Julian Opie or just a budding student’s scrawls. Still, that’s all part of the fun.
