HMS Belfast celebrates 75 years afloat
Ahoy m’harties! HMS Belfast is celebrating 75 years since its launch this weekend (March 16/17) with medal making and live radio demonstrations. In fact, you can even try the captain’s chair out for size. The ship is one of a tiny number of surviving World War II vessels and well worth a visit for any land lubber. There will be the opportunity to meet some of the ship’s veterans too, aboard the very vessel they fought on. We can’t guarantee any pirates but there’ll definitely be some good loot in the ship’s new cafe which will be serving Irish themed food. Adam Bloodworth
