Spades at the ready for the Big Dig Day

Posted at 10:15 am, March 16, 2013 in Fun London

In London, often the closest a lot of us get to having our own garden is a window box. However, there is only so much you can grow in a tub that’s smaller than your sink. If you yearn to broaden your horticultural horizons, Capital Growth, London’s food-growing network, invites you to take part in The Big Dig Day on Saturday March 16. Community food gardens will throw open their gates and there’ll be a chance to give more than 60 spaces around London a ‘green makeover’. You can help out by clearing ground, building raised beds and planting seeds and seedlings. No experience is needed so don’t worry if you don’t have green fingers yet, you’ll pick up the skills on the day. Jude Brosnan

If you fancy a glimpse of the good life register your interest in helping out on the day by visiting bigdig.org.uk/london.
