Fancy eating a shamrock? Try something new this St Patrick’s Day

Posted at 12:15 pm, March 17, 2013 in Food & Drink

What does a shamrock taste like? Your guess is as good as ours, but if you do want to know, your curiosity will be allayed soon enough as Irish company Keogh’s are launching crisps flavoured with sour cream and Ireland’s famous clover. Selfridges and Tesco will be stocking them in time for St Patrick’s Day. But if that’s not your bag, then there are plenty of others things to do today. Head down to the Water Poet for some Irish stew or boiled bacon with champ, plus traditional Irish music from Auburn Fox with Uilliann pipes and a tin whistle. Alternatively, paint a shamrock on your face and head to one of these Irish pubs for a pint of Guiness and a good old knees up. Guy Dimond
