London said a reluctant goodbye to international sports during Sir Paul McCartney’s performance at the Olympic Closing Ceremony, but we might have waved too soon. It’s been announced that London will be placing a bid to hold the 2022 Commonwealth Games, and our lovely Olympic Stadium will probably be the centre of the bid proposal. Apparently the arena will be receiving a bit of a facelift (or would you call it a hair transplant?) with a new roof to be put in place for Rugby World Cup matches in 2015 and retractable seating ready for West Ham’s 2016 season (as long as there are no hiccups with the final deal this week). So even if you didn’t get to visit the park during the Games, there’s still time to visit London’s flashiest leisure centre.
