Prepare for the Roundhouse’s transformation into a big top with the arrival of contemporary circus company NoFit State from April 6-27. The home-grown troupe’s new work BIANCO is loosely inspired by Nobel prize-winning author Jose Saramago’s novel ‘The Elephant’s Journey’. Acrobatic feats and optical tricks unfold around a standing audience in an ‘immersive promenade experience’ with a ‘pounding’ live soundtrack. Zippo’s this ain’t. The ‘white’ theme of the title unites the costumes, sets and pyrotechnic showers in what promises to be an explosive visual spectacle. The Roundhouse run is the first stop on a nationwide tour of the show, which opened last year in the scenic surroundings of the Eden Project. The grown-up travelling circus, who describe themselves as both sexy and subversive, look set to give London a white-knuckle display of artistic and gymnastic talent. Katie Forster
