If London went on Mastermind, its topic of choice would probably be ‘gentrification’. With Stratford’s flamboyant shimmy into the 2012 Games and Shoreditch’s thrust into the glamorous shabby chic style, it seems that the capital is slowly peeling off its cocoon to reveal a shiny, colourful city that will be open to all its inhabitants. But with all this work going on behind massive temporary structures, some Londoners may feel detached from their once-loved areas. To remedy this estrangement, the folks in charge of the King’s Cross regeneration are giving you the opportunity to name the newly built streets. There are ten streets that require naming, but before you get carried away, there’ll be no ‘Bojo Dangle Heights’ or ‘Harry Styles Mews’ as each entry will be reviewed by the King’s Cross Central Limited Partnership bigwigs who hope to find names that will stand the test of time. Entrants may suggest as many names as they wish before the end of May with the shortlist being announced later in the year.
