Missed the Olympics? Don’t worry, your sporting heroes are coming back this summer

Couldn’t quite manage to scrape together that £1,000 to see the 100m final? Did the Olympic ticketing page yell ‘YOU SHALL NOT PASS’ at you last year? Or did you flee the country due to the apocalyptic predictions during the run up to the big event and immediately regret it when you found out that the tube ran more smoothly than it normally does? If the answer to any of these questions is ‘yes’ then we’ve got some exciting news for you. From July 26-28, some of our favourite athletes from London 2012 will be returning to Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park for the Sainsbury’s Anniversary Games. Earlier in the week, it was announced that Team GB gold medalists Jessica Ennis, Mo Farah, Greg Rutherford and Jonnie Peacock will be heading back to the track, and today Usain Bolt confirmed his attendance to the three-day event. With three months left to go, expect a long list of Olympic and Paralympic champions to be added to the bill. Tickets haven’t gone on sale yet, so you’ve got ample time to warm up your refresh-button-clicking-finger and practice the Mo-bot before sports-mania hits London again. Carly-Ann Clements
