Othello at the National Theatre

Starring Adrian Lester as the eponymous black general and Rory Kinnear as his treacherous nemesis Iago, the National Theatre’s new production of ‘Othello’ is the year’s big Shakespeare blockbuster. Directed by NT artistic director Nicholas Hytner – who announced last week that he’ll be stepping down – this modern dress military take on Shakespeare’s tragedy is one of the most anticipated openings of the year, selling out its initial booking period straight away (though new tickets are now on sale).

BUT IS IT ANY COP? It opened last night (on Shakespeare’s 449th birthday!) and Time Out was there.
