Photography fans, it’s that time of year again as the Deutsche Borse Photography Prize takes over the shiney new Photographer’s Gallery. From the isolated women of Southern Europe’s Google Street View by Mishka Henner (above) to the poetic despair of Chris Killip’s Northern working class, the show (on until June 30) showcases some of the most resonant contributions to contemporary European photography made over the last year. And then makes them battle it out for the top spot. Not literally. The winner won’t be announced until June 10, so there’s plenty of time to root for your favourite before then.
Also, while you’re there pop in to see Finnish photographer Claire Aho’s Studio Works for a lovely 1950’s/60’s Scandinavian fashion fix. Oh and have one of the brownies from the cafe too. They are memorable.
