LondOnTheInside get us in a mood for a spring fling this May

Dalston Rooftop Garden - Background Bars

Spring is in the air and we’re itching to get out and experience all the fun things to do in London when the sun is shining. Our friends over at LondOnTheInside are too and they’ve given us a heads up on what they’re looking forward to this month…

Background Bars, Dalston Roof Park, 3 May
‘Cocktails on a rooftop in the heart of Dalston – could there be a better way to watch the sun go down? We think not. After smashing it last year, the boys at Background Bars are back and this time they have gone tea-total. Don’t worry, that doesn’t mean booze free, that means tea-themed cocktails. There’s also a bar knocking out the usual booze offerings, free cinema screenings and lashings of good times. See you on the roof.’

Field Day, Victoria Park, 25 May
‘With festival season fast approaching, we are lucky to have one of our favourites right here in London. Field Day takes over Victoria Park on May 25 offering a stellar line-up of established artists and celebrating the work of up-and-coming bands. If past year’s festivals are anything to go by, we’ll be rolling home laughing after a full day of proper fun. Music + beer + sun = winning!’

Porky’s, Chalk Farm Road, Mid May
‘The trend for American BBQ food is showing no signs of slowing down, not that we’re complaining – we could eat pulled pork around the clock. Porky’s is the new Memphis style BBQ joint serving meaty goodies and American craft beers to classic Tennessee tunes. Did we mention the 16-hour-smoked pulled pork?’

Slider Decider, The Gun, 16 May
‘The battle of the burgers continues this month at the Slider Decider. Taking place at The Gun, Docklands, 25 of London’s top restaurants will compete against each other to be crowned champ. Our money is on Original Fry Up Material’s Brunch Slider – sausages, quail’s egg, cheese and full english sauce in a mini muffin.’

Karine Jackson pop-up, Covent Garden, 30 May
‘How about a quick hair cut and a drink for free? And no, we don’t mean a DIY one. Put those scissors down and head to Covent Garden where you’ll find the Karine Jackson pop-up giving free trims, tea and goodie bags from 5-9pm. There really is no excuse for that messy mop now…’
